1. Thoroughly wet your scalp and hair with lukewarm water below 38℃ and pre-wash carefully. Thorough pre-washing improves shampoo lathering and reduces friction damage. Washing with hot water can accelerate color fading.

2. Lather an appropriate amount in your palms, then apply to your scalp and lather further with your scalp and hair. Massage with your fingertips or a kenzan (a type of hairbrush). Lathering by rotating your hands to incorporate air without rubbing will create a fluffy lather.
