From each singular fragrance flows a personality, a way of being. This personality then springs forth allure, movements thus leaving free rein to imagination, to narration of a particular story - David Benedek

ABOUT BDK PARFUMS

Our fragrances are unique, crafted with passion and emotion. Presented in a modern olfactory library, rich in stories and dreams.

Each BDK Parfums fragrance begins with the selection of a unique raw material, which becomes the starting point for the creation. The aim is to bring out every subtlety, to transcribe every character, while personifying it, imbued with a new identity/personality, without distorting its very essence.

From each of these fragrances, each with its own unique nature, springs allure and movement, suitable for awakening the senses and imagination, suitable for the construction of a free and singular story.

It's a sincere approach, a respect for the materials and authentic know-how of our French artisans and collaborators that we strive to showcase. All our perfume concentrates are made in the Grasse region. It's a search for the finest materials, a quest for excellence in each creation, to deliver and write the most beautiful stories.

David Benedek
the founder

Born in Paris in 1989 to a father of Romanian origin and a mother born on the Algerian-Morocco border, David Benedek grew up surrounded by the world of perfumery. His grandparents, exiled from Transylvania, were among the first people authorized to distribute big-name perfumes such as Worth and Christian Dior in Paris in the 1950s. They then specialized in selling perfumes and luxury products to foreign customers visiting the capital and opened their first boutique in the 1960s at the corner of Rue Royale and Rue Saint-Honoré. Passed down from father to son, the family's expertise in perfumes grew over the years. David studied economics and then moved to Beijing and New York in 2010 for his studies. Upon his return, he joined the Institut Français de la Mode in 2012, where he specialized in the world of perfume and cosmetics. For over a year, he learned to recognize the main raw materials, olfactory families, and their facets before perfecting his skills in learning the steps necessary for creating fragrances. Smelling, discovering, recognizing, he became familiar with the subtleties of this universe with the Givaudan teams. A passion that gradually transformed into a need: that of making it his profession. He then decided to continue this apprenticeship alongside the Cinquième Sens Institute, which helped him shape his olfactory universe, the cornerstone of the BDK Parfums perfume house.
